Randall's Story
I was born in Hammond, IN. After attending kindergarten there we moved to Hartford, KY where my parents are from. In 1963 we made the big move to Yuma, AZ. I attended Alice Byrne for second grade and then we moved down to the Yuma Valley and there I attended Crane School 3-8. Then Yuma High! After graduation I had many different jobs including working in the fields, picking cantaloupe etc, When the Crane school Gym burned I was a truck driver for the Yuma County Water Users and a reserve firefighter for Rural Metro and helped fight that fire and made the front page of the Yum...Expand for more
a Daily Sun. From there I made a career change. In 78 I started with the Yuma Sheriff office. Then left there after almost 5 years and worked for Yuma Ambulance Service. Then in 84 I started with Somerton PD. That too lasted almost 5 years. In 1988 I went to work for DOJ/I&NS reaching the rank of Supervisor. Then the hostile takeover came and we (I&NS employees became the ugly step-children of CBP). I retired as a CBP officer 12/31/21 with almost 33.5 years there, where I have done about everything there is to do.
