Randolph's Story
After High school went to Northern VA.C.C. on an Auto scholarship while there found the machine shop and took machinist classes , never thinking how these classes would come in handy. For those of you who remember me I was car crazy and was always working on cars motorcycles and loved street racing and had a pretty fast car for a while.I met my first wife working as a secretary at speed shop in Falls Church , we married for the wrong reasons , but somehow we lasted 17 years had a girl in 1978 and in 1982 a little boy.I was working as a mechanic at a Phillips 66 in 1975 and my father came to see me and told about a job as a machinist at the Library of Congress he worked there as a electrian, he knew the foreman and I left the mechanic trade and became a Federal Govt.machinist.My marriage was falling apart and so was I, something was missing in my life ,after we separated it was now my turn to raise our two children I was told .I reconnected with my old buddy Don Close , we talked all the time and he helped me understand a lot of stuff , one thing he told me was about the empty feeling inside , he told me all about Jesus Christ and how he would fill that empty feeling in my life ,it took awhile ,but I finally surrendured my life to Christ , he filled that empty space. My life was a mess and slowly.......... my life started to change and I am still a work in progress .
My first wife eventually got our two kids back and raised them in Winchester , where my son still lives with his future wife and 2 year old granddaughter.

I remarried in 1992 and a year later a little boy came along ,two years later a little girls came a long .MY wife and I attended Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield until last year and we have since started attending McLean Bible.
In 2000 I was surfing the web on job sites and found out about a machinist job at the Govt Printing Office,I applied and got the job and have been there since Nov. 2000 .I have been a Govt employee for 33 years , it is now time to leave and I am looking for a job outside of Wash. D.C.
My daughter is very athletic and has played soccer all her young life ,I by default became her coach 4 years ago and I love .It is interesting Mr.Felton never taught us to play soccer in High school(how many guys had him ,what a great man)I loved him , really the first black man I ever really knew.We never played soccer in old Fx. Cty we played softball at the YMCA , anybody remember the one on 236 and Prince William Dr? and swim in the pool? My second wife,Becky and I live in the City of Fairfax, two blocks from G.M.college and are in the teenage years with our kids.
I have worked with my hands my whole life , some of you may remember me with dirty fingernails when we were in 11th and 12 grade,I have had a pretty good life so far ,but as friends have said ,it is to expensive to retire in FX.oh well we will see what happens , I had some good friends and neighbors back in high school it will be good for me to reconnect at the reunion next year,I have played the shy one , it is time to reconnect before it is time to leave.
