Randy's Story
Life
Since graduating from Purdue (Krannert School of Business) in 95' I have lived in the Indianapolis area, working as a financial broker, operations manager, sales manager and now systems analyst in the IT field. I built a home in Fishers, IN, northeast suburb of Indy, in 1999 and have lived there since. I get to make that big city commute everyday to work, about 40 minutes each way, to Eli Lilly where I work for Unisys in supporting Lilly's computer infrastructure. I married my girlfriend of 6 years in June of 07'. We had a beautiful baby girl, Addyson, in July of 08'. In my down time I love to travel and have become a bit of a history nut. I'm trying to visit all fifty states, not just drive through but spend a at least a couple days in each. I have made it to about two-thirds and hope to get to most of the others in next few years. A lot of my travel is tied to my love of history so I have had the opportunity to visit most of the significant civil war battlefields and lot of colonial / revolutionary sites on the east coast. When not traveling my passion for technology seems to keep me busy, along with coaching my step-duaghter's basketball teams and being a Boiler-backer.

of Business, with a B.S. in Management and minor in Finance in 1995. Since then the IT field certifications have taken most of my education advancement time, but I hope to start in a Masters program in the next few years.
Workplace
I originally went to school to be a stock broker with hopes of one day being on the floor at Wall Street. However, after accepting an offer with a financial institution after graduation and getting a taste of that field I quickly realized I didn't have that type of make up to be successful in that field. It was a cut throat, fast paced, straddling the ethical and moral tightrope that I was unable and willing to subject myself to on a daily basis. Plus its a game of numbers, where if you have "a win" 10% of the time that was considered a good day and its hard going home everynight knowing that you had failed 90% of the time during the day. I digress, so I went into operations management, which I enjoyed very much, for about five years. After that I tried my hand in sales management in the retail field. While, it was ok the retail field is a beast and I could not see myself in it the next 10 years. Therefore, I ended up where I am now and have been in the IT field supporting computers for the last five years.
