Randy's Story
Life
Hello, Class of 76. July 1, 2006 will be my 30th year in the Navy. This is also my retirement date. I am a Master Chief Air Traffic Controller (E-9) stationed at Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility as the Command Master Chief. I live in Virginia Beach, VA with my wife Jean and our Daughter Kristin who is a Senior at Christopher Newport University and our son Joshua who graduated from Tallwood High School in 2004. Joshua now paints cars for a living in Atlanta, GA. Prior to my current navy assignment I worked in a staff billet at Commander Amphibious Group TWO, were I was responsible for the training, readiness and all air traffic control equipment for all the Air Traffic Controllers on the east coast that are assigned to LHA/LHD class ships (7 Amphibious Carriers) and 2 Tactical Air Control Squadrons (TACRONS). I travel extensively throughout the world and deployed with the amphibious carriers during real world operations. I have lived in Philadelphia, Guam, Memphis and Jacksonville, FL, I hope to see you all at the next reunion. Pass the to all of our classmates to sign-up to CLASSMATES.COM and ensure they complete a BIO so we can keep track of each other.

Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Our Son in now married and living in Virginia Beach. Our daughter is now persuing her Master Degree.
UPDATE: (April 2008)
Moved to our retirement home out in the country in Chesapeake, VA. 18 miles from our other house in Virginia Beach which I am currently renting out.
UPDATE: (AUG 2008)
After 2 years as a government employee manageing the Navy's premire Master Jet base I gave that up to move on to bigger and better. I now work for SAIC in Virginia Beach supporting the Navy's Environmental planners at US Fleet Forces Command. No, I am not a environmentalist, I am and operational type that acts as a conduit beetween the Navy's environmental folks and the Navy's operational requirements.
UPDATE: (AUG 2009)
Still employeed. Just started my 2nd year with SAIC. Great company, it's just that year to year thing with waiting to see if the government is going to fund your job for another year or two or three. Or if your company wins the contract again. After 30 years in the Navy and 2 years government service were there was no worry's about staying employeed, it is mouch different now.
Just finshed installing a swimming pool at the new house a couple of months ago. Lots of hard work, new landscaping is just about finshed, at least for this year.
