Randy's Story
I canât say that my youth was my favorite years. I remember it as challenging, confusing and full of uncertainty. Fortunately for me there was always one passion, and that was computers. In 1972 I joined StorageTek, and found my passion is systems test. Within a year I moved to San Diego to look after StorageTek equipment at General Dynamics. Six months later I moved to LA, met Bonnie and was married in 1974.
We moved around a lot with me chasing career carrots. We had a son and a daughter, and have made a great life together. We are still together after 36 years.
Odd, but as fate would have it, I was with a networking company that was purchased by StorageTek, and we moved back...Expand for more
to Colorado in 1999. We live in Loveland CO, had horses and German Shepherds for 30 years. The horses are now gone, we still live on a small horse property, and still have shepherds. No grandchildren yet, just grand dogs.
Career-wise, I was an executive at StorageTek, we were bought by Sun, which I wasnât happy with, left and am now a Marketing VP at a small but growing company from CA. Still in computer related technologies, still loving it. I have seen a great deal of the world, and unbelievable amounts of fabulous people I call friends even today.
I am very satisfied with what life has brought overall, I hope that all of you feel the same and have found joy to fill your hearts.
