Life After graduation in June 1967, I was not quite ready to go to college. I thus decided to enlist in the Air Force in October 1968 while anticipating a draft notice (received it basic training). Lived in Biloxi, Mississippi for one year and then received orders for Edwards AFB out in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Never sent to Nam. Discharged in October 1972. Lived in Lakewood until 1976 after deciding city life was no longer for me. Moved to Redding CA. Except for brief employment episodes in Gillette, WY (1980), Livermore, CA (84-86), Elk Grove CA (87-89), and Ft. Smith AR (93), Redding has been home from 1976 to 2007. Have been married since 1979, have four children, and live the rural lifestyle in Northern California. Am a self-employed headhunter specializing in the telecommunications industry (telecom engineering, sales and management has been my chosen occupation since 1968). Became empty-nesters in 2005 and lovin' it. Although headhunting everyday, it's like being busy being retired in God's country. We can launch our boat in Lake Shasta in only thirty minutes. The '63 to '67 Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles and Simon & Garfunkle and Merle Haggard remain my favorite artists (Merle lived in Palo Cedro since 1972 until he passed recently). 2008 Update: Life's not all peaches and roses (Should have went for thirty-five in USAF and retired as a one-star in 2003).
