Kynne's Story
Life:
(Never worry about anything.....It's gonna be the same anyway!
Just expect the unexpected, deal with it and move on)
I started out singing, dancing and entertaining in Columbus, Ohio at the age of three (3) in church, around the house and at Friday & Saturday night "fish fries" and parties. Also sang in school choirs, talent shows, and under the street lights until turning "pro" at the age of eleven (11).
Began singing in vocal groups throughout Ohio. Joined the "G-Notes" (age 11) and traveled throughout Ohio, then the "Vallejos" at the age of thirteen. We (the Vallejos), "ran off" to Chicago twice to record. We cut our first hit "45", "My Only Love" & "Now That It's Over" after signing with VEE JAY RECORDS. Vee Jay had changed our name to the FALCONS and "My Only Love" was in the movie "ROCKY 2". Cut another 45 ("Come On Home" and "Stop"). I left the group later for the U.S. Army. After that, off to California.
I have been in the "LAS VEGAS CIRCUIT", for what seems like a lifetime, entertaining in Hotels, Casinos and Showrooms throughout the West Coast touring from Canada to Tijuana, Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii, and much more. See my website (Music Is My Life) for the complete and continuing story at Kynfolks & Kynships!
And, If you're ever out West (or anywhere else) and you see the name "Kynne Winston" on a sign or marquee.....drop in, say "Hi" and be ready to be entertained!
Since 1997 I have ran and operated my website "Kynfolks & Kynships".
Check it out.
School:
Right after I finished Central High, I "party-ed" at Central State (history major) for almost two years and then ran into the Army.
I was smart, got great grades, but I was much too "fast & antsy".
I was commuting from Columbus to school before I even knew w...Expand for more
hat commuting was!
I studied at Darmstadt University in Germany for two great years while doing my tour in the Army.
Get this, my major was "Jazz History"......I'm serious.
(and me, a jazz fanatic from birth!)
Much, much later I finally took school serious and went to Mission College in Santa Clara,Ca.
Majored in Computer Technology.
Computers were all still in "DOS" - (No Windows).
I had a ball, plus I learned enough to get a degree.
Which helped me know computers, but had nothing to do with my real job.........does now!
College
Central State
was great!
Darmstadt U.
was cool too!
Computers at Mission College were hard n' tuff
But I was still able to do my stuff.
love it!
Military
I was inducted into the army at Fort Hayes in Columbus Ohio, took basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and was stationed there for 10 months. After that I was stationed in Darmstadt, Germany for two and a half years. I worked in the "Motor Pool" as "the automotive parts clerk". We (the Darmstadt Gunners) won the USARA (all of Germany) Basketball Championship. I was the starting guard for three seasons. I served with some great guys from Philly, Texas, Baltimore, and Chicago....among other places. One friend of mine from Texas was the one who told me about California, where I now reside. When I first got to Germany I bought a Mercedes Benz for 300 bucks from a guy that was going home. That car took me and my buddies all over Germany, to Paris, Barcelona and Madrid Spain, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, and a lot more places. Man, what a tour of duty. "I remember Europe"...well!
I ended in up a War that I do not talk about.
