Randy's Story
After high school I went to Labette Community College and received my Associates Degree in Music Education. I then looked for a four year college to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. I attended Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO for three years and having financial bills to pay I entered the U.S. Navy. I was sent to Yokuska, Japan for three years, then I was able to get orders for San Diego CA. I was in San Diego for a total of six years on the USS ESSEX, USS BELLEAU ...Expand for more
WOOD and then shore duty at 32nd Street Naval Station San Diego. The Navy was down-sizing and I was involuntarily separated. I then signed up for the Navy Reserve so I could still serve and work toward a retirement. I am presently in Marine Expeditionary Force Religious Unit 119 as a Religious Program Specialist Second Class Petty Officer. Recall to active duty and mobilized to Afghanistan in 2009-2010 then mobilized to GTMO Cuba 2014. Retired from military after 20 years of service.
