Randy's Story
I'm a father! And a grandfather! I'm so very happy and proud of my wonderful girls!
I work as an aide at a state psychiatric facility. I love this job. I've been at it since '96. I can actually see myself retiring there. I'm considering returning to school for a nursing degree, too.
I'm still the strange, yet nice, guy I was in school. And the navy. The difference now is, I'm comfortable being an oddball!
If anything, I'm probably even stranger now. As in high school, I'm still into punk, but it's pretty tame stuff next to some of the other sounds I like!
I'm still into science fiction, too. Mostly the dark, cautionary-tale type stuff like "Blade Runner", "Brave New World", and "A Scanner Darkly", but I also like the optimistic humanism of Star Trek.

As if that wasn't weird enough, I bicycle everywhere. I don't even own a car anymore, and don't intend to buy another one ever (if I can help it!)
I decided a few years ago that I'm an agnostic. It was more a realization than a change. I realized that I just don't know whether there's any god, or any afterlife, and I might as well just admit that. I simply do not know, or claim to know, the answers to the deepest mysteries of the universe. Hell, I don't even know what my neighbors did for breakfast...
If I believe anything, it's that any god worthy of the title will understand my doubts, and allow me that happy afterlife anyway. Yep.
I voted for Obama.
My favorite color is pink.
That makes me a pinko, I think.
