Randy's Story
We moved around quite a bit when I was a kid, so I went to a lot of different schools and met a LOT of people as a kid. We lived in Brunswick, GA from '71-'80, so I made friends and "grew up" with a lot of the same people from grades 2-9 there. My freshman high school year ('79-'80) was at Glynn Academy in Brunswick, GA and I played trumpet in the marching band. My sophmore year ('80-'81) was at Sequoyah High School in Doraville, GA. Again, I played tumpet in the marching band, but I also ran the mile and two mile races on the track team, I was an artist on the school newspaper staff, and I was a stage hand helping run the lights for the school talent show that year. And then we moved to Stone Mountain, GA and I was at Stone Mountain High School for my junior and senior years ('81-'83). I played trumpet in the marching band my junior year, but not my senior year.
After graduating from the Portfolio Center in '85, I had a "first career" in advertising for about 7 years as a graphic designer/art director, and then I went back to school and got a degree in Aviation Maintenance...Expand for more
from Clayton State College and I've been at Delta Air Lines since '91. I started out as a Mechanic's Helper, and moved around within the airline with several different jobs in Maintenance and Flight Operations over the years. But for the past 10 years I've been an Aviation Mtc Technician in the Technical Operations Center at the airport... In other words, I'm an aircraft mechanic in the Atlanta hangar, LOL!
I've been divorced for two years. My oldest two kids are from my ex's first marriage and I adopted them in '99, and we had two between us, and they are currently 16, and 12.
I live in Griffin, GA and like to be as outgoing as I can. Last summer I did a lot of jet skiing with my kids on the lake. And since I work for an airline, I also love to travel and take my kids some place new every year. In the past few years I've taken them to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, the St. Louis Arch, Mount Rushmore, and Devil's Tower. I also have a passport and last year I had a great time on a trip with a buddy to Bogota, Colombia. I can't wait to visit a lot more countries in the future.
