Randy Myers:  

Randy is from Houston, Texas. His schools include Cousino High. I went to Macomb and enlisted in the Naval Reserve. Got called up for 2 years active duty. Made if half way to nam. I ended being assigned for duty in Hawaii. Now I'm going to brag. My duty station was on a Admirals staff which happened to be Commander in Chief Pacific Fleet. The CO was a 4 star admiral. I worked in the classified section which was a library for all the secret and above for the fleet. In my spare time I learned to scuba dive. I got a part time job at a dive shop helping out at the dive classes and going out on dive charters keeping an eye on the tourists. I considered staying but I hadn't been home in 2 years so I left paradise to come back to Michigan. I got a job at a lumber yard. Got married in 73. On my first day of my first vacation ever I was water sking and my leg broke. We were in the middle of no where in the middle of the lake. Gary Matlas and I swam to shore and had to wait forever for a ambulance. I was taken to a hospital in Midland. The next day I had surgery to cut a cyst out and replace it with a metal plate. Since I couldn't drive I went on disability. My sister was a senior in high school so I let her use my car in return she chauffeured me around so I went back to Macomb and finished up. Thank goodness for disability insurance and the g.i. bill. I work my way up to yard manager. When they started opening on Sunday it was time to leave. I ended up at a tier one automotive soft trim supplier. After 10 years there I move into stamping. In the mean time 3 children later my wife divorced after 15 years.I got remarried in 1992. I worked for ten years at the stamping plant as a material supervisor. 9 years in the union went on strike. The company started moving the dies out to our sister plants.
