Randy's Story
My story truly began after college. I graduated from Drury in 1983 and left for Southern California shortly afterwards. Once there, I worked for Hughes Aircraft until 1992 in various management positions. I married my wife Nancy in 1991 and inherited two children, Heather and Aron, at that time.
In 1993, Nancy and I decided we wanted a simpler life and made the decision to move back to Springfield. Over the next 7 years, I worked for OTC and Missouri State University in the training field. We enjoyed Springfield a lot and had many happy memories there. However, in 2000, Nancy and I decided to move back to California to be closer to grandchildren and kids.
Through 2006, we enjoyed the birth of three grandchildren and spent time with our children's families. Nancy and I were very happy together. However, she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive breast cancer in August of 05 and she died in February of 2007.

September of 2007. Also during that time, I started talking to one of my friends from college who was going through her own trauma of a divorce. To make a long story short, we started dating last September and we're engaged to be married this coming November.
I've learned a lot over the years. I've learned that I can survive most anything and that the important things in life are relationships and experiences. I've learned to not take anything for granted and I've learned that love is truly what makes the world go round. Today, I do a lot of fishing, play some softball, and hang out with Kim at home. She's brought a wonderful 13 year-old son into my home and I enjoy spending time with both of them. I'm currently evaluating what I want to do as I grow up, so I'm not working at the moment.
I hope that anyone who reads this is as happy as I am. I've always been blessed to have many friends and family who love me. Life continues to be a series of changes occasionally interrupted by stability. I look forward to seeing what life has in store for my future.
