Raul's Story
Life
When my family left Houston in 1977, we moved to England. Barring four years at Tulane University from 1980 to 1984, I have lived in London ever since.
I studied Psychology at London University while working as a high school counselor at the American School in London (my old school). During my last two years at ASL, I completed a part-time evening MBA, and in 1993, I was hired by Morgan Stanley in the equities division. After many years working in large banks, I left Lehman (better lucky than smart) to form an independent M&A consulting firm. I worked on the sale of DreamWorks Music Publishing, the acquisition of several healthclubs in the UK, and on the acquisition of a large Yellow Pages business in The Netherlands.
Most recently, I have been lured back into mainstream investment banking as the Chief Operating Officer of NCB Capital, the investment banking arm of the largest bank in the Middle East, NCB. I'm based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and I travel often to Riyadh, Bahrain, Dubai, and London.
