Ray's Story
Life
Quit high school my senior year to join the Marine Corps. Retired from the Marine Corps in 1976 with the rank of Master Sargent. Overseas stations in the Philippines, Burma, VietNam and Okinawa. Tours in VietNam with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines (The Walking Dead) and 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines. Studied VietNamese, Indonesian and German for three years at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. I have three daughters, Sharon Lee, Caron Lee ( twins) and Patricia Lee. All three born in the Philippines.
After retiring from the Marine Corps I received a BA in Business Administration from National University in San Diego, California. I was in business in Singapore in the late 70's, where I met my wife Helen. Upon returning to the United States we lived in Dallas during most of the 80's. We then moved to Sparks, Nevada. I went to work for the Washoe County Sheriff's Department and Helen went to work for the Spa...Expand for more
rks Police Department. I later transferred to the District Attorney's Office from which I retired.
Somewhere along the way we began to rescue Pugs (dogs) that were basically in good health but unwanted and facing destruction at the animal shelters. We found homes for most of them, but we currently have 4 dogs ( 1 french bulldog , 3 pugs) and 4 cats that we are committed to providing with a good home for the remainder of their time.
Beyond that we don't do much, I play the banjo, guitar and ukulele (try) and Helen collects collectibles from auctions. She seems to find jewelry to be collectible. We love it here in Northern Nevada. The weather here is a lot better than most people think because of our location and the people are wonderful. Reno/Sparks is growing, but it's still small town. Every where you go you run into someone you know. If anyone is heading this way just E-Mail us in advance and we would love to say hello.
