Ray's Story
Hello everybody! Not too excioting of a story to tell...................I worked for Burlington Northern R.R. for three years as an engineer (chu-chu driver) and then served three years in the Army. Included in those three years was a trip to South East Asia, got wounded and spent 11 months and three weeks in a Army hospital in Denver, Colo. After that I spent the remaining time of my enlistment at Ft. Lenonardwood, Mo. Went back to the railroad after I got discharged and remained there for a year and a half. Attended Mpls College of Art and Design for Photography and multimedia and then had my own photo studio for several yeras until 1978 when I started a novelty company with a friend of mine. We produced calendars, post cards, cookbooks, posters and other photographic related items. In 1984, I left the company and went and did so...Expand for more
mething I always wanted to do........................run heavy equitment! I did that until 1991 when I was hired by the D.O.T. of Minnesota. I worked in the travel mangement department there untill I retired in 2008.
I now spend most of my time in and around aviation which has been my passion pretty much since I was old enough to know what it was! I am a published aviation photographer and have an extensive aircraft photo library from which I retrieve images for magazine articles I ocasionally write.
My goal is to get published in National Geographic Magazine. That's just one item on my bucket list, and there are many! I also want to drive the entire lenght of highway 1, or 101, which ever it is, down the Califorina coast, all the way to Mexico. I would rather have done it when I was 21 years old, but hey, better late then never ha?
