Ray's Story
I'd really like to learn what you have done since high school. A lot has happened.
To me too. Here's prob'ly "more than you ever wanted to know" about me.
I moved to Freeport in 7th grade. I asked the coach if I could try out for football.
He said, "You're a skinny little runt. Come back when you grow up, kid".
I said, "I'll join the band". Mr. Clark was very kind and started me on a life of band..
Mr. Mac and Mr. Muck made HS special, too.
During 7-12 grade I worked on morning paper route (2-7 am) almost every day. as well as Bridge Harbor Marina, welding and longshoring.
Went to Sam Houston and married Kay during college.
We both taught in Conroe 7 years. Started and ran Up Front Screen Printing in Bryan for 25 years,...Expand for more
sold it and taught band for about 17 more years.
Retired and now work for free.
Our 3 kids all played in the band and church orchestra and we both still play every week. We are active in church, Gideons, mission trips, construction and art. We spend alot of good time with our kids and grandkids.
We've traveled all over the country, over-seas, cruises and enjoy being home, too.
To help music history students understand classical music, I played classical music on a turkey baster (kitchen type). That led to playing at banquets, churches, nursing homes, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, etc.
Just another way to entertain people and enjoy music.
I love our God, America, family, church, friends and
