Opened my own detective agency, and did well until I got involved with private security guards, and soon lost my butt, and had to go back to working for the other guy again. I spent a year in the east Texas area as a security consultant, but finally took a job with the Lake County Sheriff department in Central Florida. I returned to Texas after a year, these were unsettled time for me. ...Expand for more
I finally decided to return to sea, and as I was to old and beat up to go back into the Navy, I joined the Merchant Marines. I found that it was a great way to live, and stayed there until I couldn't climb the accommodation ladder, and was forced to retire ashore. It was great fun while it lasted though. Retired in Beaumont,Texas In 2002, and ate my way to 287 lbs. Hurricane Rita hit and convinced my landlord to get out of the rental business, so I bought a small place in Groves TX. ( about 15 miles away) and shortly after move in, I was put in the hospital for bypass surgery. I came through that with flying colors and feel better now than I have in years. I am also down to 218 and still losing. I never realized that living without any vices would be so dull. I quit smoking several years back, don't drink and since I eat properly now, theres not much fun to be had. I'm too old to chase the ladies, and the occasional cuss word I might utter seems so mild now-a-days, I don't count it.
