Ray's Story
.Since leaving GW, I have worked for C&P Telephone, served in the Navy on a supply ship, been to Vietnam,
returned to C&P, and worked on Capitol Hill for 20 years. After Capitol Hill, I spent 6 years at the Pentagon,
spent 9 years working in and around the DC area for Lucent Technologies--before retiring in 2000.
After retiring, I spent 2000 to 2006, working at a location in Arlington, working for Lockheed Martin. They
laid me off in 2006, and after 4 months, I got another job with them, in Baltimore, at the Headquarters for
the Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services--where I have been since.
My work has taken me all over the Washington area, working on the various systems that the companies
offered, and meeting some very i nteresting people, along the way. Co...Expand for more
ngressmen, Senators, Justices of the
Supreme Court, Generals, Admirals, and a multitude of important behind the scenes people, who support
the various groups I have mentioned. It has been an education, and one I was lucky to obtain--rubbing elbows
with the powerful people who run the government, and the military.
I was married once, for 12 years, divorced, and met my current wife 26 years ago--she is a wonderful
woman, and been very supportive of my work--we have 2 wonderful children,a son 25 years old, and a daughter
20 years old.
I am close to retiring, but I made a commitment to myself--and ultimately--to my family, to continue working
as long as I can still do the job. So far, I have my health, and next year will have been in the trade for 50 years.
