Raymond's Story
I left Tahlequah in the fall of 1970 to attend the University of Oklahoma on a Navy ROTC scholarship. Graduated from there in 1974 and the Navy brought me east where I served on several ships and saw countries in Europe, around the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. in uniform, I retired and this gave my wife and I the chance to settle down in Virginia Beach, VA. I went to work for several large defense contractors supporting the Navy and now I'm looking forward to retiring again. On the side, I began woodturning as a hobby and it occupies my free time. I joined the local woodturning club and serve on its board of directors. When I get the chance, I'm in the shop turning out wooden bowls and a variety of other things.
