Raymond's Story
Since I graduated in 1950. I attended Chicago Tech 50-52. The Korean War caught up with me in 1952 so I enlisted in the Navy, boot camp in San Diego Cal. After boot camp went aboard an aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea CVA 47. Was assigned to the Navigation Dept. Was off the coast of Korea landing our planes back on ship when the war ended July 27, 1953. Made two more trips to the Far East, 1954 and 1955, visiting many ports of interest. artin a PHS Grad. We lived in California until we came back to Indiana upon my release from the Navy.
Went to work with Honeywell in the Engineering Dept. in 1956 as a Draftsman. Had advances from lead draftsman to Engineering positions which required many travel assignments. Honeywell became MarkHon in 1976 and them MarkHon Ind. in 1987 where I remained until my retirement in 1996.
Ruth and I had 3 children, Diana, Gary and Linda. We lived in Wabash all our time together before Ruth's passing in 2013. Have 3 grandchildren.
