Raynald's Story

I joined the 100/442nd and took Basic Training at Ft. Lewis, Washington. I Liked the Pacific Northwest so much that I moved there in '71. I Loved skiing at Bend, Oregon, and Mt. Hood. Scuba dived in Oregon and Anacortes, Washington. Moved to Colorado and loved the skiing at Vail, Aspen. The fall colors of Colorado are dazzling as well as beautiful. Love the Tex-Mex there too. I Married in '88 to an island girl-Staten Island. whom I met while briefly living in the Puna District of the Big Island. Moved to Florida in '89 and remained there until 2012. Ventured to Ecuador, and built a beautiful S.W. adobe-style home in Cotacachi, Ecuador. Sold after 3 years there and moved to Panama. We bought a farm in the David area and found that the weather was like hell.....only hotter and humid beyond any experience. We sold the farm, returned to Florida, Sold our Florida home, and decided to full-time RV and travel the Western States. We started in November 2020 and have traveled full-time from Florida to Alabama and westward since then. We have taken our proceeds from 3 sold homes and HEAVILY invested in Crypto and BITCOIN as well as a little in the Stock Market. Currently, I seem to be utilizing my time repairing the motorhome and making improvements to our trailer and jeep to accommodate a nomadic lifestyle. Our latest interest is Land sailing on one of several dry lakes in Nevada, California, and Arizona. Long Range shooting is my latest interest only now I am advancing into high-precision toys. The Western States are blessed with abundant land owned by the Bureau of Land Management where you could explore hundreds of thousands of acres in Nevada and Arizona alone. Shooting a mile is never a problem on BLM land. Our extended plans are to purchase a new 42-foot American Coach motor home and continue visiting the remaining Western States from our Winter home in Southern Arizona. Update 1-5 23 We unloaded our beast, the 40-foot motorhome, our nice jeep, and picked up a pull-behind trailer, a newer Chevy 2500 HD, and and Chevy Equinox to save on fuel. The old Eagle was falling apart from all of its years of travel and traveling with a 20-foot tandem axle trailer for the jeep became a very big problem as the RV parks are not accommodating to 63 feet of space that was required. It was such a hassle looking for spaces that we decided to simplify our travel...Expand for more
s. We picked up land in Buffalo, Wyoming, Northern Florida, and an RV-friendly location in Arizona to hang out while we weren't traveling. We plan to leave Arizona before the hot season arrives sometime in May or June, travel and do our thing, and return to Arizona perhaps in September or October. We plan on camping at one of two dry lake beds in Nevada for a couple of months at least, playing with our land sailers. Return to Arizona and store our toys then head over to Wyoming to check out our unseen property and stay there a spell, putting up fences and cleaning up the property. We would be very close to Devil's Tower as featured in Close Encounters way back when. That would be a sight. I plan on flying my drone to the top and videotaping the monument up close. I will post photos here at a later time. For now, we are dabbling in Aquaculture. Utilizing IBC totes to provide a fish tank and growing beds with the idea of providing our homegrown veggies. Raising Tilapia and growing our veggies will certainly help, more so if the SHTF. We shall see. Currently, the high cost of living created by the Democrat Party and Biden, in particular, has slapped us silly in terms of cost of living. Currently, we pay $3.39 for gas, and diesel is $4.75 or so per gallon. Everything has gone up. I can't imagine Hawaii Islanders surviving there with even higher costs. I Lived in the following states: Arizona, Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Washington, We traveled and stationed in Ecuador 2012-2015, and Panama 2015-2018/2019. Interests are Precision Shooting, shooting sports, tactical firearm training, reloading, Archery, Toyama Ryu, sailing, photography, Time Exposure videos., skiing, scuba diving, flying (student pilot) 150, 152, Warrior, Powered parachutes, and Land Sailing. Thanks for taking the time to review my experiences. I am Currently retired................sort of. BTW- the last call to invest in BitCoin will be BEFORE the halving in April 2024. This is a Generational Event to increase your wealth. While the value is at a modest $42,000 or so, worldwide, Institutional and even nation-states are adapting and investing in BitCoin. The rise in value will be astronomical. Invest now, whatever you have. Hang on because this will make millionaires overnight. My Aloha to Napua Last entry 05-Feb-2023, 05 Feb 2024
