Rebecca's Story
Life
It's been a long time since 1971. I graduated from SIU in 1975 with a BS in Child and Family. I also married Doug Sarcia in 1975. We immediately moved to Louisville, KY where I worked in Unemployment Insurance until our first child, Elizabeth, was born in 1979. At that time I became a stay at home Mom. Adam (1982) and Benjamin (1986) came along and I was quite busy doing Mom stuff for the next 15 years.
In 1985 we moved from Louisville to St. Louis when Doug took a job with an insurance company. We spent 5 years there before moving to West Chester, PA (near Philadelphia) when Doug switched companies. We have lived here ever since. It takes a bit to get used to "Eastern" ways, but we love it here now. Two years ago we bought a second home on Lake Keowee in South Carolina. We anticipate retiring there when the time comes.

chool based program. It was very rewarding and I finally was doing what I had earned my degree in. It only took me 26 years to get around to that, however, I was able to apply plenty of my education to raising my family.
In 2005 Elizabeth got married, Adam graduated from college and Ben graduated from high school. Shortly before all those events happened, I quit working. That gave me time to deal with those events and, after, time to travel with my husband, Doug and to spend more time in South Carolina. Doug works for an insurance company and travels internationally in order to arrange business partnerships. Because I am no longer working I am able to tag along on occaision. We have had some great trips, and through his contacts we have made some wonderful friendships in various parts of the world.
I feel blessed for the opportunities I have had and would love to hear about my classmates lives.
