Life
I changed to my first name, Rebecca,(Becca) upon entering high school.I married my high school sweetie,Mack Allison (he went to Ramsay)in 1972 and we have two boys,Mack, born in 1978 and David, born in 1988. Mack and I joined the Army in '74 and I retired in '96 after three tours in Germany (total of ten years). We live in Huntsville, Al now. Mack and I were owner-operators, driving cross country in an 18 wheeler (independent contractors with CRST).I retired last year. Our son Mack is now the father of our first grandchild, a sweet boy named Terry, born April 29, 2006, stepfather of Rowan, born in December of 2007, (his wife Beverly's son), and they have had a daughter of their own, Vivienne, born April 2015. ince my retirement.and before. I write poetry, short stories and a blog, and am working on a YA novel. I am also a political activist for Bernie Sanders (updated bio in January 2016).
School
Those of you who knew me then at Banks know that I was a passionate debater, especially on the subject of religion, co-author of a Banks Notes comic strip (remember Radical Rodent?), always in the chorus at musicals, in the Glee Club, unathletic -well, I liked running-and totally mystified at the clique system in high school. Sheesh, we were all just kids trying to get by - why make it hard on others? I loved Rebecca Jennings in drama, Ms Beard for history, was a victim of Mr. Hanlon for Algebra, Mrs. Waits for English, and Mrs. Griffin for Govt./Econ!
