Rebecca's Story
After all that Northbrook taught me I went to college at SHSU, joined and became treasurer of Kappa Delta Sorority and graduated with a BS degree in Business/Consumer Sciences a semester early with a great gpa. In retrospect, I think the thing that best prepared me for college was being a Bandolera. Rebecca Magdalena was truly an inspiration in encouraging us to be our best. We had to be organized to manage our classes and the requirements of drill team. Fortunately that stuck with me. After college I began a career in real estate and accounting that included asset management, development, portfolio sales, etc. Along the way I met Sean Gore, the love of my life and now husband. We married in 1994 and have two boys ages 7 and 11. When Griffin, my first son, was born I had planned to work from a home office until I realized how much time taking care of the little guy took and retired. Since then the years have simply flown by. but let me assure you, if you have your health you have everything. There is still hope with further treatment my condition will improve, but my days of high kicks are definitely behind me. I hope this note finds all of you in a good place and I send my best wishes out to all of us who had the unique opportunity of growing up together. Before closing I'd like to ask for a special remembrance for Shannon Stauth. She touched so many of our lives with a zest for life that compared to none. I got to spend several hours of her last night here with her and in that moment there is just no other words that better describe where she was at other than she had the dog by the tail. Her life was in a really good place; as we've learned life is a gift and none of us know how long or short that gift is meant to be. For all of us hers was way too short, but for reasons we will not understand until we are there ourselves God needed her special talents in Heaven.
God bless you all; remember the gift you've been given and live it to it's fullest.
With Love,
Becky Griffin Gore
