Rebecca's Story
Life
I have been married for 20 years to my second husband. He is currently a stay-at-home dad. We have one daughter who is 11. We spend most of our free time doing things together, especially playing with the furry members of our family (horses, dog, gerbil).
My love of horses began before I can remember, and I proved my parents wrong by never outgrowing it. For the first time since 1976, I have my horses right outside my door, living on a beautiful piece of land about 20 miles from Denver, CO.
After living a lot of different places (New York, New Jersey twice, California twice, Arizona and now Colorado), I've found a place I'd like to stay forever.
College
College was kind of a nightmare for me, as I worked full time to put mys...Expand for more
elf through UCLA. I was also married to my first husband for my junior and senior years, living in Lake View Terrace in the first house I ever owned. we were dirt poor and barely made it. So I would say my college experience was not at all typical. I graduated in March 1979 with a BA in Economics, and never looked back.
Workplace
After over 20 years managing accountants in the entertainment industry, I moved on to IT in 1998. I currently work for EchoStar (Dish Network). Past employers were AT&T Broadband/TCI, Playboy (yes, THAT Playboy), KTLA and WXTV.
I loved accounting, but love IT even more, and wouldn't go back. I get to use my accounting background in my work as I support financial systems, so I have the best of both worlds.
