Rebecca's Story
After all these years, I haven't changed much from who I was in high school -still a bit too intellectual, more interested in ideas sometimes than in people, but learning, after many years, that ideas without people don't matter. my son is a senior at UCDavis and is paying 8x that. Boy, we had it good in those days. I am the oldest student in my class - most are my son's age - but I feel wise, not old. I spent 17 years in Alabama, returning in 2003 to Grass Valley, a small goldmining town in the Sierras, to live with my parents. After Chico, who knows? A teaching job, maybe a master's; my body is getting older, but my mind is young, and that's all that matters.
