School
During the spring of my senior year, four of us skipped school and decided to play golf. Coming back from Briar Hill after playing 18 holes, we had to stop for a school bus. After stopping and waiting for some kids to get off, the driver also got off. It was Mr. Eisner and he requested that we meet him the next morning in his office, which we did. Military
I had the honor of spending a year in tropical paradise of Viet Nam. Arrived in Feb. of 1968 and returned home in Feb. of 1969. Went over as a PFC and came back as a SSGT. Was with the 25th Inf. Div. Spent my entire time in the jungles outside the city of Siagon. Never did get to see much of the city as this was at the time of the TET offensive. Was wounded three times, but never bad enough to be sent home. Besides the three purple hearts that I received, I have one silver star, 3 bronze stars, 1 air medal, and was part of 21 unit citiations that my unit recieved. Saw a lot of things that I hope none of my grandkids never have to see. It was a very learning experience. I am still in touch with some of the guys that I was with over there and I still consider them as my brothers. They will be my brothers for life. I remember getting letters from some of my classmates while I was there. To Dale H, Steve D, and Mary J., you will never know how much that they meant to me.
