Reed's Story

Life Career and Family Stuff: Went to work for a telecommunications engineering firm in 1966. Left Colorado in 1968 via company transfer to St. Louis, MO. Spent five years there, did a dumb thing and got married in 1970, transfered back to Colorado in 1973. Was here about two months, was transfered to Scotch Plains, NJ. First son, Damion, was born there in 1974. My second son, Justin, was born here in Denver in 1977. Returned to Colorado for extended vacation May 1975, quit the company, as I was about to be transfered to Chicago. Enough was enough already. Had my own specialty design business for about three years, got a call from the company I quit in '75 and started a new Denver branch for them here in Colorado in 1978. Left that company again in late 1979. Guess why. I divorced my first wife in 1978. Enough about that. Went to work for a local civil engineering firm in 1979, worked for them until 1988. Got married again in 1981 to Conne(see pic). She's a keeper! Conne went back to school in 2008 and graduated Maga Cum Laude from Regis University on December 12, 2009, with a BS in Business Administration. She also made the Dean's List 2008-2009 with a 3.86 GPA. She is now doing graduate course work to complete a minor in health care. Obviously, I'm very proud of her. I'm still running(or it's running me)my civil engineering and land planning firm which was founded in 1988. It's hard to...Expand for more
believe our 22nd year anniversary is coming up in May of 2010. My partner of 7 years retired in January this year. Lucky him. We have two granddaughters now. Sara was born August 2006, Christine was born in April of 2009. My Son, Damion, says that's enough. Sara is quite a pistol and very advanced for her age. Already a hand full! It looks like Christine, by virtue of her development at 10 months, is on the same track as her sister. We're down to two beagles now, Scout and Whiskey. Sadly, Casey our eldest beagle, died at 14-1/2 years of age in August 2009, after splenectomy surgery. He was Conne's very special buddy. Hobby and Pastime Stuff: Started flying in 1983 was at it off and on, (more off than on)for a while, really started flying again in 1998. I bought a Royal Air Force ground attack jet fighter in 1995, sold it, bought another one in 1998. It's for sale now, as the 1999 hail damage has finally been repaired. Still play guitar and do the music stuff when I can. New endeavors: As you've probably noticed, I was given the honor of serving as reunion committee chairman last August and, have since, been working with our GREAT reunion committee members to organize the upcoming 45th reunion in August. It's been a great pleasure, a fun and rewarding experience. We sincerely hope it will be the best reunion ever, if that's possible. I am looking forward to seeing all you classmates then!
