Reed's Story
Well Hello to all the former WHS students. First I'd like to invite any and all of you to drop me a note. My Email is ravenwv8104 AT yahoo DOT com.
Lets see, I guess I'll begin with what I did after my departure from WHS. It was premature, in 10th grade. Mr Sly and I agreed that WHS was not the place for me. LOL.
I went to "Drop In" for a while but did not graduadte from there either. My GED came in 1990 when I had a little time on my hands.
My Elders owned a local Fleeting service, Boats & barges. I went to work for them part time, went full time in spring of 1979. I have been in the industry ever since. Well, there was a brief period when I thought I might try to get off the river but it didn't happen.
Today, I am a barge line pilot. I drive the big tow boats pushing barges loaded with bulk commodities to and from ports along the Mississippi River System. I am employed by a division of ADM.

young and for the wrong reasons. I became a father too young as well. I would bet that sounds familiar to many of you.
Carol Valdez was my first wife. Two children were born during that time. Amanda in late '79 and Eric in '81. We split up in '84.
Laura Chester was my 2nd wife beginning in '86 and lasting until '04. We also have 2 children, Kehlie and Kehrie (Kelly & Carrie) ages 19 & 17, respectively.
I became soured on the whole "TIL DEATH DO US PART" thing but not on women. I am currently living in Davenport with a wonderful woman, Diana Nickols, whom I adore. We have been a couple for nearly 4 years and there is no end in sight. We are a good match. 3rd time's the charm, right?
I would like to introduce her to some of the more prominent people in my former life. We don't do too much but what we do, we do together. That suits us fine.
