Reginald's Story
I hope my friends remember me as kind, caring, compassionate, trustworthy and genuinely concerned abouth their well being and future.
Listening to music (Contemporary jazz, classical & some gospel), motivational messages, physical exercise and hanging out with my wife are excellent antidepressant and stress reducing activities for me.
My mother was and continues to be my hero. A salutatorian in High School and scheduled to attend college in 1959, which was rare for an african american female. She became pregnant from the man who would become my Father. Refusing pressure from family and friends to abort me, she spared my life. After divorce she did everything possible to shape and develop for four boys to become productive men. Inspite of the enormous sacrifices and challenges, she enrolled in college, graduated tops in her nursing class and scored one of the highest scores on the 1969 Florida state nurse licensing exam. A tremendous role model that I quite honestly did not fully appreciate until adulthood and Fatherhood. She's remains an inspiration for my wife and children, always distributing kind words of encouragement, sage wisdom and demonstrating unconditonal love to my family and everyone she meets. She's an amazing person. You're simply "THE BEST" mom. Much Love and Kudos.

Sophomore years. Kappa Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Sigma, Alpha Phi Alpha were three (3) fraternities that offered to cover my initiation fees to become a member.
I share my home with my wife Rita, which I find to be a source of inspiration.
My oldest friend was Robert Hodges. We met in 2nd grade as Cub scouts. We gravitated to the same sports, hobbies and just enjoyed each others company. He was always happy & enthusiastic about life. Both of our sons are college students & athletes and fine young men as well.
My first job was at a Tomato farm, where I got paid $1.00/row to tie tomatoes. What I remember most about it is was how bad my back hurt afterwards. I vowed to go to college afterward, it was easier to use my brain than destroy my back.
In 2nd grade Ivory Glover and I engaged in an heated argument. The subject was reproduction and I rejected Ivory's belief that children were delivered from the womans belly. My argument was children were obviously delivered by the stork. It was well documented on Tom & Jerry and other Saturday morning cartoons. I was extremely embarassed when my mother confirmed Ivory's theory.
I always wanted to be a professional football player when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was an acceptable aspiration, but the highest priority was to obtain a good education. As it turns out, they were right..
