Reid's Story
FOR ALL 1972 GRADUATES - You are most cordially invited to a gala operatic concert on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Vineland, New Jersey. The church is located at the corner of 7th and Landis Avenues and has both street parking as well as municipal parking lots nearby. Singers from Austria, Russia and the United States will perform opera arias and ensembles in this beautiful setting. The gala will be performed in honor of Dr. Robert Shewan, one of the world's foremost voice teachers.
Reid A. PERICHOLE, AMAHL & THE NIGHT VISITORS, and LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR. His repertoire also includes ELIJAH, MESSIAH, ST. JOHN PASSION, WACHET AUF, CHRIST LAG IN TODESBANDEN, and THE CREATION. Mr. Westergaard has performed as recitalist in THE OLD AMERICAN SONGS (Copland) and AN DIE FERNE GELIEBTE (Beethoven). A winner of the American Opera Awards, the Austrian Vocal Competition, and the Rotary Foundation Group Study Exchange Scholarship, Mr. Westergaard is the chief executive officer and artistic director of MUSICA DA CAMERA. In addition, he serves on the Board of Governors of the American Guild of Musical Artists, the Fine and Performing Arts Academic Advisory Board of Cumberland County College, and the Gloucester County (New Jersey) Cultural & Heritage Commission and the Council on the Arts.
Reid has made the transition from baritone to tenor repertoire in the past four years.
