Renee's Story
Life
I moved to Los Angeles in 1967, where I went to an "alternative" school. (Yes, it was run by real live hippies!) You didn't have to go to classes, take tests, or get graded on anything. You could do whatever you wanted all day. The way you graduated was to tell the headmaster, "Hey, man, I'd like to graduate this year." I told him that in 1969, my "junior" year. So I started college at age 16 (filmaking major.) But I never really had any interest in finishing college.
I got married in 1974, and moved to Oregon in 1977. I lived on a farm and raised animals until I got tired of it, then became a writer and a filmmaker. Of course, I'm leaving out all the juicy stuff. I have had a crazy, cRaZy CRAZY life!
I didn't actually graduate from Hubbard because I moved to California during freshman year. So you'll probably only remember me if you went to Hurley elementary school. I've lived in a lot of places but I've always thought of Chicago as the place where I grew up and have wanted some contact with the "kids" who grew up with me. I keep in touch with Donna Sharkey, my oldest friend in all the world (NO! She's not old! I mean I've known her longer than anyone.) I'd love to hear from Sally Rudnick, Pam Mavrinac, Linda McCullough, Peggy Vana, Sharon Butler, Lee Wood, John Conrad, Maryann Mistarz, and anyone else from back then. Hope you're all having wonderful lives.
