Renee's Story
I am married to Doug Loveless. We met at a singles group at First Assembly of God. He asked me out in July 1995. Our first date Doug took my children and I to the Columbia Park Pool. He then bought me flowers and planned dinner at Chili's (with all our friends at First Assembly) for my 30th birthday. He always showed up when I was needing help. I remember one day at lunch time I came home to my apartment and fell in the parking lot. I fell so hard that my knee was bleeding pretty bad. Doug did not know I was there but he showed up just at the right time to help me. I was hooked when he asked me to marry him. We are a blended family. Doug's daughter is Sonya who is the oldest and I have a son named Jacob and a daughter named Hannah.
I work in the Lafayette School Corporation as a paraprofessional. My job is truely a blessing to me. I have always wanted to be at home for my family. My position with Lafayette School Corporation has allowed for me to be "the mom at home with my children" that I wanted.
In February 2011 Doug was diagnosed with renal failure and had to begin dialysis. We were so grateful for family relatives and church family and many others we did not even know who surrounded us with so many prayers. I was so afraid that Doug would not be with me for long. He lost so much weight and his kidney functioning was only 5 percent. Then six months into our trial my girl friend and her daughter came forward to tell us that they wanted to be donors. My girl friend was a match after many trips to Indy to be tested, Doug and my girlfriend went to the hospital on Valentines Day of 2012 for the Kidney Tr...Expand for more
ansplant. What a gift of love we received from her and her family. Doug and Sheri are doing fantastic and both are now back to work since the surgery.
I also have had health issues that have been misdiagnosed for many years. I finally found a Doctor who helped me get to the bottom of my many health problems in August 2012. I found out that I have Celiac Disease. I have since changed my diet from wheat, gluten. I am back to recovering from the many years of intestinal damage caused by wheat, gluten and grains. Then in 2021 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I had a craniotomy, radiation and chemo. It has shrunk the tumor and remains stable. God is my constant source of provision and help; my healer and deliverer!!!
We are both getting back to living life (debt free). We also enjoyed a cruise to the Carribian with many good friends from our church at First Assembly of God.
My favorite activity is being with loved ones, taking walks. I also have sung with a group named "Four Given" in Lafayette area for churches, camp grounds, and special events spreading the love of Jesus in a Southern Gospel Style. Our group loved sharing the Gospel with humor, stories, and of course singing. Now
I have an even greater reason to sing because God brought us through. God supplied all our needs... financially,
spiritually, and physically.
Doug and I belong to Whitehorse Christian church, a very supporting and loving church family. We were privileged to tour Israel with them in 2018.
God loves us and cares for us!!!
