Retha's Story
It's hard for me to believe that I have been living in Southern California for 28 years! Mississippi still holds a special place in my heart, but California is home ow.
A few years ago I started a business that provides graduate-level, distance education courses to teachers throughout the United States. The courses have become quite popular, allowing me to provide a much needed service to many teachers. My only child, Mike, helps me run the business. A few months ago my new husband, Doug, retired from his career as a marine biologist. Now he enjoys developing science courses for my business.

boat in San Diego harbor relaxing with a good book! Hopefully, I will be able to do more of that in the near future! I also love driving around the wine country near Santa Barbara for a little wine tasting.
What's the wildest thing I ever did in school? Three friends and I played hooky all day and went to Jackson to goof off. When we got back to school, we needed an excuse to get back into class. So, off to Mr. Cochran's office we went. He asked us why we needed an excuse, and we said we spent the day in Jackson. He gave us the excuse without asking any more questions! What a guy!!!
