Rex is from Valley Glen, California. Rex's schools include Hilo High School. Rex attended Fullerton Jr. College, graduated from Cal-State University, Northridge. Rex worked for 36 years as a Recreation Therapy, Supervisor, then as a Mental Health Services Coordinator and retired from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. he San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center on Tuesday and Friday, helping in providing lunch for the senior program. Enjoys playing golf and traveling back "home" to Hilo, Hawaii at least 4 times a year. Married for 39 years to wife, Lorraine Shimasaki Shimizu, a Hilo High School, Class of '67, classmate. Have 2 sons, Brian, 31 and Darren 29.
