Rh's Story
a full lift of my facebook...
Originally from Andover, moved to Pittsburgh in 97 and then bought an old church in Greensboro in 07 to convert into a design studio/live space. Slowly renovating and green-scaping the Victorian I live in next door.
Although my neighbors think so, I am not retired - I take on projects that interest me as opposed to working simply for the money. It isn't for everyone, it is a big jump and many will never pull it off or get their head around it. Remember it is the koolaid keeping you up at night. The whole thing IS truly VERY matrix-ie (training sim).
Meanwhile, I work with a number of charitable organizations dealing with Humanities, Historical Preservation, and Economic Development (they do compliment each other). Sitting on four different boards and recently making Borough Council Member, I would say my dance card for public and philanthropic participation is reaching capacity.
Personally I have to add activism in Environmental Justice, and Political, Legal and Educational Reform by helping make people aware of the companies and people F*n up our world with their "Gordon Gekko - Master of the Universe" persona, MTV Gangsta Millionaire Attitudes and Paris/Lindsay Sensibility - let's not leave out Mass Media and its news service for serving it up to the people (morals for money). <<when I RANT, I RANT - well!>>

oy it now! Experimenting, designing, playing and dabbling with green-scaping, organic gardening, small crop efficiencies via micro farming, Community Supported Agri, rainwater recycling, passive solar, geothermal, and renewable energy. Seems like a lot but it really is interrelated so everything benefits another in one way or another. That seems to satisfy the PLANTS aspect.
When I am not doing all of these things, I enjoy woodworking, sculpture, photography, abstract painting, kayaking, hiking (need more), reading anything related to all the above and passionate discussions with people who even remotely know what they are talking about (its the energy!).
When it rains - online research all the above and a healthy dose of tactical first person action/simulation for the action junkie in me.
To add to this I recently took in a Border Collie (mix) with a tremendous overbite and even better disposition. Being my first adult owned dog, it is a trip to say the least. Now I have to find this dog a "job" - least he becomes a neurotic obsessive compulsive trying to herd "things and stuff". That steps me into the PUPPY aspect.
Somewhere in all of this is some much appreciated quality time with those fleeting members of the opposite sex who have tried to save me from my work related preoccupations and complete the PEOPLE part of the 3P's. After all, I enjoy 72-hours of bed rest as much as anyone. <sigh>.
