Rhea's Story
I remember being the first class to enter the newly built high school - walking to classes with ladders, electrical wires and workmen all over the hallways! That would never be allowed today! The spiral staircases in each corner that were so cold in the winter, the "Commons", the smoking area outside the Commons, the "Resource Center" with the "carols" to do work and of course those comfy black leather chairs in the center
! A,B,C houses - the interior rooms with no windows, the school store where we bought candy, and on a personal note - trying out for a play (didn't make it), trying out for choir (didn't make it...who could sing the Star Spangled Banner anyway!) going into Mr. Curtis' Contemporary Music class the first day and he was hiding under his desk, saddle shoes, pep rallies... I think I was shy because I had crooked teeth (got braces on my own when I was 27 - it changed my life lite...Expand for more
rally) I didn't have the best home life so I couldn't really invite anyone over but I remember having very good friends anyway.. Karen Solazzi, Karen Kishibay, Mary Reddy, Bernie Davidow, Gina Lescovich, Debbie (?) McCusky, Melissa Hallstrom, Skip Vaum. The summer of '74.....it was the best! Hung out with my best friend Karen Solazzi at Fairfield beach and then she introduced me to her cousin, Michael, and the rest is history. He's from Fairfield. We got married in 1978, had 2 boys who are now 23 & 25 years old, and now live on Cape Cod. I work as a Police/Fire dispatcher and my husband is on disability due to 2 organ transplants. Karen is still my best friend and it's great that we're related! Still kept in touch with Karen Kishibay (although not recently) ran into Elena Diagaz in Trumbull and found Gina Lescovich about 17 years ago. Looking through the names of classmates is so much fun...
