Rhonda's Story
Hi everyone! Well, my story...hmmm...guess the Reader's Digest version is going to have to suffice. lol My parents decided it would be a good idea to move from WBP, FL to BFE, IL right after we graduated. Needless to say, culture shock set it and I was pretty honked off for quite a few years. I retaliated by being just a tad bit wild, went through a couple husbands, had two beautiful daughters (with #2) and moved to a slightly bigger area - which, is where I still live today. Skipping over a lot of mistakes and bad choices, today I have a wonderful life. My daughters are grown - Paige, 23 and Autumn 21 and twin granddaughters - Brooklynn & Kayleigh, who will be 4 August 30th. Paige is a hair stylist and Autumn is a massage therapist.
Myself, I'm a Jill of all trades. I've gone through two company closures in the same town - a steel manufacturing company, where I was in Sales & Marketing, and a hardware manufacturing company, where I did just about everything. ...Expand for more
I was a trouble-shooter there...so, wherever they needed help, that's where they put me. It was a fun ride, but both companies were very deeply rooted in the steel industry and imports ran us out of the market. I took a couple years off - "volunteer retirement" is how I liked to describe it. Honestly, after going through closing two major contributors to our community within five years, the last thing I wanted to do was jump back into the corporate world. So, I "discovered" myself. lol Found out what I loved to do, what I was good at, and who I was. Now, I'm back to working in the "corporate environment". But I absolutely LOVE my boss, the company I work for is private/family owned - yet we have a major global presense, both in manufacuring and sales. I travel, love my job (International Pet Product Manager & Global Show Coordinator), adore my boss, have a wonderful family, great friends, a fantastic "significant other"...what more could a person ask for in life?
