Rhonda's Story
Life
I am married to a wonderful man, Richard Griffin, my country bumpkin. He has taught this city girl sooo much about life and love. My previous marriage of 21+ years proved too painful to remain in; however 4 great children resulted from it which in return has given me 6 beautiful grandchildren! I worked as Assistant Executive Chef of the Royal Gulf Hills Resort for several years; but have been driving a Semi for the past 6 years; and loving it. Went to Hair Tech and Got my cosmetology degree. Went to college 3 years for teaching(primary ed) and decided that wouldn't work out. I have several great pets.

Well, I was greedy and had crushes on 3 guys! They were Craig Edwards, Louis Adam, and Tracy Johnston. Craig was the first guy to give me a friendship ring, take me out on a date(Pontchatrain Beach); of course, his Mom drove us.That was in 6th grade, in Mrs. Forio's class. She gave me more hope and inspiration than any other teacher, she was my friend too! Could not begin to elaberate on friends and memories; would need a lot more space. My last memories of hanging out at Frostop on Canal St. are some of my fondest of all, we really had some good times...Expand for more
there. Skipping school with Janice Camenita. Steve Willemet, and Craig Edwards was a hoot. RayAnn Zoulek, Pam Kessler,Germaine Wagner,Paula Atzenhoffer, JoAnn Adams, Lucy Ceperiano, Patsy Kersh, Anona Macalousa; all hold a special place in my heart;just to name a few. I remember hanging Andrew Fife out the window, by his feet, from the 2nd floor of McDonough28; Yep, we got caught! How about the Bell Theater and Stallings Playground, Mr.Buddy's store/snowballs? Walking home from school by way of the Fairgrounds' stables and visiting the horses is another favorite memory; St.Leo's CYO dances, and Crossroads; before Vince Vance and the Valliants were recording artists. I remember Mike Nestor was such a clown in school and at the dances.I know that my school days were some of the best times of my life; I cried when summer vacation was nigh. I remember going to Gail Ruppert's and Karen Black's house while walking home from E.D.White Elementary, Karen's Mom fixed us flapjacks with blackberry jam on top.Well, that was yesterday, and yesterday's gone; but living on in our hearts and minds. Let's not forget hanging out at Royal Castle and K.B.Drugstore on Broad and Esplanade.
