R. Michelle's Story
I changed my name to R. Michelle Carty since I go by Michelle - don't want to confuse anyone, ha ha
I was happily married to My Mark for going on 35 years (our anniversary was November 26, 1982). On August 24, 2018 - My Mark's body gave out due to suffering with Crohn's Disease for many years, He is now safe in the Arms of Jesus in Heaven and I know one day I will see him again. I miss him so much we were soul mates and best of friends.
I am the proud owner of 7 Cids who all are rescues - Candi Lynn (the sweetest pit pull/lab mix you can ever ask for), Chuck Jaeger (my Llewillin bird dog, he was only suppose to spend the night on his way to rescue; however, I couldn't let him go (My Mark always wanted a Llewillin Setter, Mark was an avid hunter hence the name "Jaeger" is German for hunter), Cacie Jo, my rescued Brittany, (she was found roaming the streets of Guymon, OK once she quit producing puppies to sell - she was kicked out onto the streets) and then there is CLAWdette (she still has her claws hence her name) my grey short hair cat, Chloe, my calico cat and lastly, my 2 solid black with gold eyes kittens, sisters Clindy Kay and Clarity Jane. As you can see all of their names start with a "C" so someone we know started calling them Carty's Cids and it stuck.
I am employed at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center - School of Medicine. I support 3 OBGYN doctors and also support anywhere from 9-10 3rd year medical students as their OBGYN Clerkship Coordinator every 8 weeks of rotation, I also support 4th year medical students and PA-S. I will be retiring fr...Expand for more

We moved to Amarillo TX in Aug 08 to be closer to my aging parents who live in Hereford TX (about 45 min away). I attend an Assemblies of God church here in Amarillo called First Family A/G and I facilitate a GriefShare group for those who have lost a love one and Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" to help people who are in debt get out of debt and become debt free. I am enjoying being back in my home state.
To celebrate our 30th (Pearl Anniversary) we enjoyed a cruise to Alaska and now I have been in every 50 states. During my 20 years in the Air Force (It's now been 21 years since I retired from the Air Force), we lived in Utah for 4 years, England (UK) for 4 years, Germany for 3 years and in Omaha/Plattsmouth NE for almost 18 years before moving down here to Amarillo TX. I must say the Lord has blessed me with a full and happy life!!!
Religious Views Other: Born Again/Spirit Filled Christian, attending Family First Assembly of God church in Amarillo TX
Political Views: Tea Party/Conservative Republican
Quotations:
When I asked Jesus into my heart and life on March 30, 1977 someone told me this and I have always remembered it, "Always remember, a life in Jesus is reality, all worldly knowledge is nonsense compared to Him"
After I retire from working at Texas Tech School of Medicine, I would like to volunteer to help my fellow Veterans at our local VA Hospital here in Amarillo, volunteer at our Crisis Pregnancy Center and also foster in my home "Brittany Spaniels" until they are adopted out to their "furever" homes.
