Rhonda's Story

I met my husand, John, at Drury University in Springfield, MO. He was a Lambda Chi Alpha and I was a Delta Delta Delta. We graduated in 1971 and came to Chicago, where we lived for 8 years. We have lived in Arlington Heights, a northwest suburb, since 1979. John retired as a Sales Manager for Gerber Products in 1997. I retired from my job as the Manager of Adult Education & Family Literacy for our local high school Community Education program on June 30, 2018, where I worked since 1986. I loved my job! One of my favorite accomplishments was having been awarded the Outstanding Administrator of the Year award from the Illinois Adult and Continuing Educators' Association on March 10, 2011. Amy) both live in the Chicago area. Traci has three sons, Jack (15), Ben (13), and Sam, (10), and 1 daughter, June (8). Andrew and Amy's sons, William "Will" Lincoln (after Abe), is 8, and Cooper John is 6. I used to run and loved to participate in 5, 8, and 10K races and sprint triathlons, but developed spinal stenosis and endured spinal fusion of L4-L5 in 2013. What a nightmare experience. Love spending as much time with our grandchildren as possible. We travel fairly often. We're looking forward to a Hawaii vacation with all 12 of us over New Years holiday. I am still in shock over the sudden and violent passing of our Southeast High School classmate and my Drury College roommate, Judy Winter (married name Meier), on Oct. 9, 2011. She had lived in Borrego Springs, CA, for the past 40 years.
