Rhonda's Story
Wow! I've had a full life and I'm not finished. I graduated HS in 3.5 years went to IU Bloomington for one year and eloped to Va Beach, VA. My high school boyfriend was in the Navy and we lived in an apt. on the beach.
From there we went to Michigan where he was from and then to Chicago for jobs. We opened an Antique shop which was part hobbie and my business while he did the company thing. After a couple years we sold everything and backpacked Europe for a year importing Antiques from flea markets and budget Antique shops, ending up in Alicante Spain restoring a 60 ft. motor yacht.
Later I quit the Antique business and got into Sports and fitness and worked for the Park Districts in the Chicago suburbs teaching swimming and fitness.
My marriage ended in divorce and I went back to school and got a technical degree in Graphic Arts and digital printing. Then went on to get my BA. I did the corporate thing for 20 years and ended up being hired by a Japanese Company with offices in Atlanta as...Expand for more
So. Eastern Sales/Branch Manager. I traveled all over the US for many years and used my ff miles to vacation internationally. I've been to Costa Rica, South Africa (twice) the Caribbean and Mexico many times.
I left Corporate America when I hit the glass ceiling and went back to the Antique business again. Now I sub teach in High School and Middle school and I restore Antique furniture and also hand paint furniture. I read a lot and garden. I'm very involved in church and volunteer as a Youth Mentor for at risk kids in our local high school. I'm still single and not in any relationships in case there are any single men out there who are the same.
My outlook on life is the glass is half full and that means it could hold more. I fly by the seat of my pants and have always been a risk taker. Most of them have paid off but I have had some real tumbles too. But I always got up, dusted off and got going again. And I'm still going!
Hope you all have enjoyed your lifes and have been successful.
