Rhonda's Story
I was really really shy in HS. In most ways I have grown out of that. I still fall back on it in certain cituations. I got married and three beautiful daughters. I divorced after 17 yrs. I became a nurse, which I had always wanted to be. I thought because of my shyness I could not do, However, it helped me come out of my shyness. I work at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo. I worked many years on the floor doing many things, then I got a chance to go to the outpatient clinic where I have spent the last 13 years. I love working with my veterans. They are so diverse. I remarried in 1991 to a good man, however we just could not get along anymore so in 2007 we separated. In June 20I2 I lost my middle daughter who was 36 at the time. It was a very sad time. ard time. A parent should not out live their child. I have ten grandchildren. My older daughter Nickie has 6. My oldest greandchild, James has joined the Marines. My middle daughter, Jamie had one child. He lives about an hour away with his dad. My youngest, Peggy has 3 childeren, they live in town and I get to spend a lot of time with them. I am very proud of my kids and grandkids. I have a great life, just with a hole in it for now.
I have lived in Indiana, Texas, Georgia, Florida, back to Georgia, then back to Texas where I was born. I do miss Indiana and my great friends I had in HS, but for the most part, I have had a great life since HS.
Recently divorced and went back to my maiden name of Ausbun. Also retired from the VA after 25 years. I am loving my retirement.
