Life
2008 I live in Grover Beach, CA; divorced from Bruce Cogswell in 2002. Two children: Alysa (34) is single and lives in Santa Barbara. Brad (32) and wife Lori have my one beautiful granddaughter Taylyn (10), and live in Bakersfield. We moved to CA from Enid in '79. I went back to school for a B.S. in Bus. Adm. (MIS)'92 from CSU Bakersfield - never really used it. Don't work; love to travel, but live in paradise in a small town on Central Coast of CA! Usually get to Oklahoma once a year. Love to hear from old friends. I spent part of 2004-2006 "working" on a cruise ship approximately 4 mos. a year, (a month-6 weeks every 2-3 months) as a volunteer teaching computer classes, in exchange for the cruise....Expand for more
Oct. 2006 I had surgery at UCLA for tongue cancer, and had almost half of my tongue removed and reconstructed with tissue from my forearm. They removed all the lymph nodes on the left side to make sure the cancer hadn't spread. It hadn't spread, and they say I am cured, Praise God! I am fine now, and my speech is even back to normal (or 99% of normal, which is fine - I just slur once in a while). It is miraculous what they can do, and I am incredibly blessed.
