Rhonda's Story
"The third time's a charm," is definitely true for me. I have been married for 23 years to Kenny after being divorced twice. Brett, my son from my first marriage, lives in VA and has a stepson a new baby daughter. Meredith, my daughter from my second marriage, lives in KY, married and one son, Calvin. I went back to school at age 50 to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. After hospital nursing, psych and corporate nursing, I have found my niche in school nursing. My father died in 2007 and Kenny's mother died this past May and his father has been gone since 2001. My mother lives in Pittsburgh, PA, and my sister still lives in NN. I miss her, but the Nashville area has become our home and we have no desire to move back to Hampton Roads. I wish I could see Cheryl and Brett more often, but the 12 hour drive is a deterrent.
I will turn 55 in a few days--when people ask what I want, I say, "What I want--to not be 55--you cannot give to me." Life has gone so fast.
