Rhonda's Story
After high school, I started my career working for the Department of Defense as a civilian employee 3 months after graduation. I had a son and married Ernesto in 1981. We have now been married for 28 years this June. We have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Ernesto joined the Air Force in 1981 and stayed with it for 13 years (I know, should have just did the 20). rs for Social Security. After Ernie separated from the AF, he went to work for Hilmar Cheese in Hilmar, CA. In 2007 they offered him a great promotion at their new cheese plant in Dalhart, Texas (crazy weather here, 2 weeks after we moved here we had a tornado warning and just experienced our first blizzard). We couldn't pass it up. So I took an early retirement and we moved. Our 4 kids joined us and 4 of our grandchildren are here. I am now a stay at home grandma ("nana"). Loving it!
