Ric's Story
I enjoy bike riding, swimming in the pool almost EVERY day (I finally learned how to swim in 2001 after I had LASIK Eye Surgery) going to the library, listening to all genres of music (from Bill Haley and Johnnie Ray to Kanye West and Fergie), and yes, I still watch Star Trek (all incarnations) all the time.
My Job
When I'm not on the air I sit on my butt doing web design and graphics, what could be better? I'm lovin' life! I also design ad banners for local and national businesses, those Art classes finally did some good. I also do voice work for radio and production companies, including imaging. My voice can be heard every weekday for the weather forecasts at radio stations in Shelby, Cherryville, Gastonia, and Lincolnton, NC. e). I am also on Facebook as Kahuna Ric. Oh, did I mention that I was a Morning Radio DJ for 25 years? I did a morning show at Power 98 in Myrtle Beach, B-100 in Wilmington, NC, Hot 94 in Charleston, WFTW in Ft. Walton Beach, FL., V-100 in St. Louis, Missouri, Bayou 104 in Lake Charles, La., Z-100 in New Orleans, Q-93 in Alexandria, LA, Power 95 in Shreveport, K-Fox 105 in Alexandria, LA and most recently Oldies 104.3 in Alexandria in 2005. I was a night DJ at Wave 104 in Myrtle Beach, Z-100 in Charlotte (before it became The Fox), Kiss-FM in Greensboro, NC, and did afternoons at Sunny 106.5 in Myrtle Beach when it signed on. Did a lot of radio. Health reasons restrict me from doing live shows now, so I record weather and newscasts for 18 radio stations on the east coast and Midwest daily including two here in Louisiana where I have lived for the past 21 years.
