Rich's Story
Life
I met my wife my sophomore year at the Citadel. Graduated the Citadel in1995, married 2 weeks later to Mary Beth (Lurton), reported to Navy flight school 2 weeks after that. My first son of three, Jamie was born while I was in flight school. Earned my wings in May 1997 and did a three year tour flying SH-60B helicopters in Atsugi, Japan for three years until April 2001. My second son, Connor was born three weeks before we moved to Japan. I'm accused of cloning him from my DNA. I would never do such a thing to a kid, and deny it still. He's 8. May 2001 and was a flight instructor in the T-34C for three years. Maybe the best three years of my life! My youngest, Grant, was born there in 2003. I resigned from the Navy in 2004 to persue an airline career. I continue to fly with Boeing 737-700's with the Navy reserve at NAS Fort Worth, TX where I now live. I flew ERJ-145's for American Eagle from 2004-2006. I'm flying for Southwest Airlines now as well. So if you jump on SWA take a peek in the cockpit and decide whether you still want to board or not.
