Rich's Story
Updated in 2012... now living in Seoul, South Korea, teaching language arts and Drama (yes, I can hear all of my English teachers wailing right now). Taking my team to the Far East drama competition this year, and should bring back some awards.
Left Napoli, Italy in 2011 where I was teaching drama and video production at the DoD high school. I also coach the varsity women's soccer team (the 2010 DoDDS-Europe Division II Champions, by the way) and direct the after school dramatics program. April (my wife) joined me from Colombia, and is still waiting for her classroom job. Got lots of photos and other information posted on the family website rwpservice "dot" com that also includes some photos of being scalped.
Over summertime, I'm spending lots of time underwater working towards my Divemaster certification with PADI. We spent a week in Greece on a dive vacation this summer, and the diving in the Bay of Naples is full of ancient history and surprisingly lots of sea life.
Let's see... how did I meet April? at a cast party is my story-hers disagrees a bit. Both of our daughters are grown... youngest is married living in our place in central Florida, the other just informed us we may be grandparents soon.
When I'm not coaching or directing on stage, we travel the local Italian countryside or SCUBA dive.

Ds since 1997. Have been stationed in Cuba, Germany, Korea, Guam, DC (as a distance learning teacher for econ and computer programming). Before that, worked at the USMA at West Point as a video producer, then 4 years teaching lots of different things at St. Mary's Ryken High School, a year with the U.S. Department of Education as a public affairs specialist, a little over a year in Kansas doing middays and news director at a small FM station, and before that 15 years on active duty in the USAF: stationed in Sicily, Portugual (consider that home now), Germany, Iceland, Greenland, etc. Married for 28 years. My wife, April, was also active duty, and we met in the Acores (Portugal). She lived in South American for two years, teaching at Liceo Ingles in Colombia between 2007 and 2009.
What may surprise folks who actually remember me in HS, I have spent many hours on stage, playing roles such as Joseph (Technicolor Dreamcoat), the "Steven"/Christ role in Godspell, and lead/supporting roles in many other shows. I direct and produce community and academic theatre, and consider that one of my favorite activities.
