Richard's Story

After Forest View, graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA and Drake Law School. Served 5-years as state prosecutor in Des Moines, then First Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa. Practiced law with a Des Moines' trial firm for 15 years and was then appointed an Iowa state trial judge in 1995. Served 21 years on trial bench, then took senior statu...Expand for more
s (semi-retirement) and currently serve as a senior judge on the Iowa Court of Appeals. Married to Barb for 40 years, with 2 sons and 3 grandsons. We reside in West Des Moines when not visiting our grandchildren in Batavia, IL, like to travel, spend part of each summer in Estes Park, CO hiking in the mountains and winter in Naples, FL, playing golf and sitting on the beach. Life is good.
